im typing on a funky japanese keyboard so youll have to forgive the lack of proper punctuation. im just glad i figured out how to get english letters rather than this 紆余jgh78¥65」えうぇええ¥。
the tokyo auto slalon was not what i expected. there was a fair share of skylines, z-cars, subis and mitsus but there was also a huge european presence. there were just as many bmws, porsches and audis as there were japanese stuff.
like germanys essen show, TAS is a tuner-specific venue. names like hks, spoon, mugen and nismo glitter like shrines here.
anyway, european car tuning is becoming very popular in japan. i ran into klaus (left his bizz card in my room), the alpha-wolf from KW suspensions. KW had a sizable display on hand, huge even. at the moment, business is great for kw as they have the european suspensions already designed and built and the japanese motorheads want thier stuff now. give the japanese a few years and theyll catch up (although tein and hks have already made some forays) and chances are the stuff will be superior quality.
i think its like, 3am here. maybe sunday. im so upside down from jetlag its feels like im sleepwalking. i got up last night and was so confused i tried to pee in the closet. the maid is gonna hate me.
pics t/k.
