In a unique display, as only Miami, FL could bring you, five fresh off the assembly line Aventador LP 700-4 Roadsters paraded around South Beach. Their destination; Miami International Airport where, in cooperation with the F.A.A. and Dade County Lamborghinis, the 700hp Aventador reached 210mph on the runway during a closed course demonstration. Shattering the record of land travel on the airport’s runway – average takeoff speeds of airliners is 150-180mph.
Just before the high-speed spectacle took place, American Airlines made one of their Boeing 777 for a unique photo op. As part of the entire day’s celebration of the new Lambo, 50 Lamborghinis cruised down Collins Avenue in South Beach where President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., Stephan Winkelmann and Maurizio Reggiani, Director of R&D, Raffaello Porro, Director of Communications and External Relations, and Filippo Perini, Chief Designer were on hand to christen the new roadsters voyage into supercar history.
“The Aventador Roadster is our most exciting production car ever and I can think of no better place to celebrate its launch than here in Miami.” Stephan Winkelmann proclaimed after the cars 200mph+ sprint.
