Our Three Project Cars Ready for Show Time
To say we are fond of the BMW marque is an understatement. Thankfully, Bimmerfest West is upon us and we've been constructing three project cars we can't wait to share with our readers and fans of the BMW badge. With the Pasadena Rose Bowl Stadium as the backdrop attendees of the 2013 Bimmerfest West can expect to see an example of their favorite BMW models through out the companies history.
We've been busy here at european car. No doubt by now you have seen our F30 335i slowly come together in the pages of european car. What you may not know is that we've been feverishly modifying an E46 M3 to high hell for maximum performance from the legendary platform. Even better still is we threw a F10 535i MSport into the mix.
Our E46 M3 is just about ready to make is glossy print cover debut on our upcoming 07/13 issue. There you can find out what drove our Senior Editor, Alex Bernstein, to build such a monstrous machine, aside from the scary feeling it gives you when your roasting sideways. He's managed to stuff the tried and tested ESS Tuning Stage 2 Supercharger kit under the hood, which is churning out 472hp at the rear wheels. A set of KW Clubsports get the car sitting nice and low on top of the coveted Volk TE-37 (18x9.5" front and 18x10.5" rear) with an aggressive offset (+22), wrapped in beefy Falken tires (265/35 front and 275/35 rear). A Borla exhaust system ensures stealthy daily driving or breaking Sunday driver's eardrums during a tunnel sprint.
Our long-term BMW project, the F30 335i, has been the aftermarket test bed for our readers. With the success of the E9X platform, the F30 has had quite a hill to climb. Luckily, thanks to our partnership with exceptional dealers and tuning shops we've been able to give our F30 a tuners touch of performance and style. BMW Performance provided us with their exterior offerings like mirror caps, black kidney grilles, engine cover and air box. They also shot over a set of their latest performance goodies like ECU upgrade, Stainless-Steel muffler upgrade and our sexy new big brake kit upgrade - complete with giant yellow Brembo calipers and larger dimpled rotors. The entire attitude of the car is assisted further with a set of H&R coilovers. They help the car sit nicely on top of our 20x9"front and 20x10.5" HRE Wheels wrapped in Nitto Invos tires (245/30 front and 295/25 rear).
Our big daddy BMW F10 535i MSport is packed full of top shelf parts. Including a set of black 20x9" front and 20x10.5" rear BBS CH-R wheels, Falken 453 tires (245/35 front and 285/30 rear), KW V3 coilovers and the new P3Cars vent visual interface. We certainly agree with the owner of this car in checking the box next to MSport. It brings a new level of aggressive M5 styling without the monstrous price tag.
You can check out all three cars at our european car booth, this Saturday at the Pasadena Rose Bowl from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
